“Beyond the Production”

IG Live - Generic_Facebook.png

Beyond the Production is an online interview series taking artists off the stage and into the community to share their experiences in the operatic arts. We feature artists from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines like tenor Rene Barbera, a native of San Antonio who has headlined productions at international houses like La Scala; Matthew Ozawa, a cutting edge Asian American stage director; Kevin Miller, a musical coach who recently worked on OSA’s production of Faust; and our first class of Summer Apprentice Artists, comprised of four local singers representing our diverse community.

“Charlas Musicales”

Expanding on the success of Beyond the Production, this Spanish language series introduces Hispanic and Latin artists to new audiences. This program features local artists, artists who have previously performed with OSA, and artists we hope to introduce in future seasons.

 More Ways to Enjoy Music

Spotify Playlist #1

We have crafted three playlists of the greatest opera hits that we will be releasing over the next few weeks!

This week our Music Director, Francesco Milioto, has curated the first Spotify playlist for your enjoyment. He carefully combed through a myriad of amazing recordings to put together the greatest hits of opera.

We hope you enjoy this expertly picked selection from the operatic arts. Enjoy!

Spotify Playlist #2

Francesco Milioto shares a second Spotify playlist with you, this time focusing on Barqoue and early music. Some of the most inspiring and moving operatic arias were written during this musical period. This list contains performances by the renowned singers, conductors, and orchestras from around the world.

Spotify Playlist #3

Francesco Milioto shares his third and final Spotify playlist with you, this time focusing on 20th Century opera. Some of the most inspiring and moving operatic arias were written during this musical period. This list contains great performances from modern artists, some of them still living today. These dramatic works push the boundaries of theoretical composition as well as performance virtuosity.
